Higham St John's School News...
An important letter regarding the first week of term has been sent home via email, this details the Tour of Britain Cycle Race, Parents' Information Evening and the High School Admissions Evening. A copy can be found here.
The Tour of Britain Cycle Race will be passing Higham on our first day back after the holidays. The older children will be cheering the cyclists along between 2:45pm and 3:15pm.
Please be aware that, due to the race, the bypass will be closed until around 3:25pm. Therefore we strongly advise parents not to set off to collect children prior to this time to avoid being stuck in traffic. If you are a few minutes late on this day, we will keep hold of your children until you arrive. There is no need to let us know if you are slightly delayed!
This year, we are holding an information evening to let parents know more about what happens in each class, including expectations, routines and topics. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions.
Teachers will be repeating the sessions to enable you to attend more than one class (where appropriate), or to fit your needs.
The sessions take place on Tuesday 8th September at 3:45pm, 4:15pm and 4:45pm.
The LCC Admissions Team will be coming to school to talk about the application process for High School places.
The session takes place on Thursday 10th September at 6pm in school. Parents of children in Years 5 & 6 are strongly encouraged to attend.
Applications for High School places can now be made via the LCC website.
If you are looking to apply for a place for your child at Higham St John's, to start in September 2016, we are holding an Open Afternoon to allow you the chance to look around and ask any questions that you may have.
The Open Afternoon is on Tuesday 20th October from 1:15pm-3:15pm. No appointments are necessary.
Applications can now be made via the LCC website.
