At Higham St John's, we encourage all children to take pride in their work and their appearance.   Our school uniform is as follows:-

 School Uniform

Boys:
Navy Sweatshirt with school logo*
White Polo Shirt with school logo*
Grey Trousers / Shorts
Black shoes

Girls:
Navy Sweatshirt with school logo*
White Polo Shirt with school logo*
Navy Skirt / Trousers
White / Navy socks or Navy tights
Flat Black shoes (for practicality reasons, ballet style shoes are unsuitable)

Note: A navy blue/white gingham dress may be worn in summer if preferred.

Year 6 Pupils

A shirt and School tie replaces the polo-shirt for both boys and girls.   V-Neck sweatshirts are available to order to compliment this alteration to the uniform.

Jewellery:

No jewellery may be worn (including watches) during P.E. lessons.  Sleeper earrings should be removed at home on P.E. days in the interests of safety and to ensure that they are not lost or damaged at school.  

We ask that any ear-piercings are done at the start of the summer holidays so that your child's education is not disrupted.

P.E. / Swimming

Physical Education

P.E. T-shirt with school logo*, or Plain White T-shirt
Navy / Black Shorts
Black Pumps (No trainers)

For outdoor games, tracksuit bottoms and a warm jumper may be worn.

Swimming:
Children in the juniors will participate in a series of swimming lessons as part of the National Curriculum.  These lessons will be during school hours and will be run by fully qualified instructors.  You will be advised when your child will be having these lessons.

Children will need to bring:-
Swimming Costume - (One-piece for girls, no bikinis;  fitted swimming trunks for boys, no shorts)
Towel
Goggles may only be worn if medically necessary.
Children with long hair (i.e. shoulder length or longer) must wear a swimming cap.
