The school follows the Lancashire Education Authority guidelines for admissions.
Children are admitted to Higham St John's in the September of the academic year in which they turn five years old.
Our standard admission number is 20. If the school is oversubscribed, priority will be given to:-
1. Children in Public Care. (Looked After Children)
2. Children with older brothers and/or sisters* who will still be attending Higham St John's Primary School when the younger child starts.
3. Children for whom the County Council accepts there are exceptionally strong medical, social and/or welfare reasons for admissions.
4. The remaining places are allocated according to where children live. Those living nearest to the school by a walking route recognised by the Local Authority will have priority.
* Brothers and sisters include adopted and foster children who are living with the same family at the same address.
If you have any questions regarding this policy, please contact us and we will be happy to talk the process through with you.
