Higham St John's

We are a small, rural Church of England (Voluntary Controlled) School with extensive grounds and superb open views of Pendle and the surrounding countryside.  Our children come not only from the village, but from many of the surrounding villages.

Our School Logo

Our logo, which appears on a wooden sculpture outside the front entrance and on our school uniform, depicts the bell holder from Higham Village Hall.  It has carved into it the phrase "One More Step"  which is from the popular hymn "One More Step Along the World I Go"   The hymn tells of the problems we face in our journey through life and asks for God's support at each stage.

St John's Church

Being a Church of England School, we have close links with our Church, which is situated next door to the school.  Our children regularly visit church, both as part of Religious Education, as well as leading worship at Christmas and Harvest.  The vicar is also a frequent visitor to school to lead our whole school worship.  To find out more about our village church, St John's, Higham, click on the link.

Extra Curricular Activities

We offer a range of extra-curricular activities over the course of the year, both during and after school.  We regularly compete against other schools in a range of sports through the Burnley Sports Partnership.
For dance and drama fans we also present two productions a year. Further information about these clubs will be sent via the school newsletters.
